過去曾先後負責Mac、iPhone、iPod系列與第一代iPad產品研發的蘋果硬體工程資深副總Bob Mansfield，稍早從蘋果官網中的高階主管名單中消失，不過看起來似乎並非因應去年6月宣布退休計畫，而是加入蘋果特別產品計畫，並且直接向執行長Tim Cook匯報。

蘋果硬體工程資深副總Bob Mansfield過去曾先後負責Mac、iPhone、iPod系列與第一代iPad產品研發，同時在去年6月期間的WWDC 2012結束後曾透露退休計畫，但隨後仍繼續留任蘋果職務。而在稍早時候，蘋果官方網站所列高階主管名單忽然將Bob Mansfield相關資訊移除，進而引起可能從蘋果離開的市場傳聞。

不過，就路透新聞網站記者Poornima Gupta所透露消息，Bob Mansfield僅只是從蘋果執行團隊中離開，並且加入蘋果特別產品計畫，同時直接向執行長Tim Cook匯報工作內容。

以近期蘋果可能執行的特別產品計畫，或許將與先前傳聞的智慧型手錶裝置有關，同時預計公布時程將會在明年，而蘋果先前也招攬YSL前執行長Paul Deneve，可能也與此項產品計畫有關。
