Google Now 傳將提供更多以地點決定的新聞卡片。

Google Now 已經整合在 Android 系統多時，可視使用者時間和地點自動提供使用者相關的新聞卡片，像是當地天氣、交通資訊和聯絡人生日等。而 Google 於 1 日傳出正在測試更多與地點相關的新聞卡片，讓 Google Now 自動提供的資訊可以和使用者的地點密切相關。

Google Now 現在可以提供使用者附近的商店、學區或是在周圍區域與在舉行的活動等，不過據報這些新的本地新聞卡片，而且將高度符合使用者的地點，當時的時間和使用者的興趣，不過目前僅在 Google 內部測試。

提供使用者量身打造的本地新聞是許多以新聞起家的公司一直在嘗試的事，不過到目前結果不佳，像是已關閉的 NBC EveryBlock、衛報（Guardian）的 Guardian Local，而還在苟延殘喘的 AOL Patch 都無法達成獲利的目標。

不過 Google 也許有不同的結果，因為 Google 的剛好有已經有個強大的新聞收集服務 Google News，同時也已高度本地化，因此對 Google 來說，提供與使用者高度相關的本地新聞將不需重新打造一個服務，只要新增一個功能從 Google News 截取資料即可。
