除提供智慧型手機觸控面板技術，並且針對筆電、Ultrabook提供鍵盤應用技術外，Synaptics宣布收購以指紋辨識技術聞名的Validity，或許未來將提供筆電產品能更輕易地搭載指紋辨識器功能。

Synaptics宣布收購以指紋辨識技術聞名的Validity，並且將以美金9250萬元價格完成此筆收購。透過此次收購，未來將使Synaptics可提供模組化指紋辨識器，讓筆電產品能更容易搭載指紋辨識功能。

不過，目前Synaptics尚未透露未來將如何應用Validity旗下功能，因此尚未確認是否提供獨立指紋辨識模組，或者與本身提供觸控板解決方案進行整合。

Synaptics先前主要提供智慧型手機螢幕觸控技術，另外也針對筆電觸控板提供ForcePad等解決方案，此外也針對Ultrabook、輕薄筆電提供更薄的鍵盤應用。
