研究結構生物學有成、不斷創造卓越研究能量的成功大學微生物及免疫學研究所助理教授王淑鶯，與大陸北京清華大學王新泉教授等人，共同發表有關白細胞介素33(Interleukin33,IL-33)與其受體相互作用之研究，刊載於全世界最負盛名的學術雜誌之一《美國科學院院刊》（PNAS），該發現可望成為研發治療氣喘等先天性免疫疾病藥物的關鍵技術，顯示白細胞介素的研究已邁入一個新的紀元。
