Google先前已經在Google Search功能內加入「定義 (define或definition)」功能，讓使用者能透過搜尋查找特定字詞於網路間的解釋內容。目前Google針對此項功能做強化，提供更完整的字義、來源、不同翻譯或使用率等資訊。

根據Google稍早所公布消息，將針對英語系地區的Google Search定義查詢功能進行強化，未來使用者將可透過輸入「define」或「definition」，加上特定字詞即可查找更進一步的解釋內容，包含更完整的字義、來源、不同翻譯結果，或是字詞過去使用率統計等。

而除了透過文字進行輸入查找外，Google也提供整合硬體麥克風以語音方式進行"詢問"方式進行搜尋。

目前此項調整僅先針對英語系使用國家釋出，暫時還沒有對應其他語言版本。不過，目前包含中文等語系地區仍可透過相同搜尋方式查找字詞解釋內容，不過暫時僅會提供簡單字詞拼音、定義說明與網路所收錄定義內容。
