根據索尼電腦娛樂全球工作室總裁吉田修平證實，搭配PlayStation 4一同推出的全新控制器DualShock 4，包含按鍵、類比搖桿等基本操作功能，均能相容Windows作業系統平台使用。

Joystiq網站引述索尼電腦娛樂全球工作室總裁吉田修平於Twitter回覆說法，表示新版DualShock 4將可相容使用於Windows作業系統平台，並且將對應包含按鍵、類比搖桿等基本操作功能。

不過，吉田修平並未具體透露是否將DualShock 4與Windows作業系統平台PC連接後即可直接使用，或者需要額外安裝驅動程式。

以微軟所推出Xbox系列控制器，以及相容Xbox系列控制器的情形來看，只需要額外加裝微軟提供驅動程式即可在Windows PC端使用。而針對非相容Xbox系列控制器部份，過去大多是透過使用XInput API設計的驅動程式，將控制器模擬為Xbox系列控制器的方式使用。
