從去年Google I/O 2012大舉展示Google Glass，並且在今年Google I/O 2013提供開發者交流，Google目前也傳出將開始大量生產Google Glass，預計將在近幾個月內讓消費市場也能使用此項穿戴式裝置。

Google目前尚未證實Google Glass預計上市時程，不過在先前說法中透露將最快於2013年年底前上市。根據英國《金融時報》引述消息來源表示，Google目前已經著手加速Google Glass量產，預計將在近幾個月內釋出數以萬計的供貨量，讓消費市場也能使用此款充滿話題的穿戴式裝置。

不過，消息來源並未透露市售版Google Glass售價是否將比照開發版本，先前在Google I/O 2012開放美國在地開發者購買的Google Glass Explorer版本，售價為美金1500元 (約新台幣45000元)，幾乎等同高效能筆電建議售價。

稍早消息中，Google也傳出將在舊金山灣區建造水上資料中心，但有另一方說法認為將是Google Glass專屬銷售店面，不過Google方面並未對此消息回應。

除Google宣布進入穿戴式裝置市場，包含三星、蘋果、LG、Sony、微軟，甚至包含多家中國白牌廠商均先後加入競爭，而ARM、Intel、Qualcomm、Broadcom方面也在處理晶片提供相關解決方案。

而除了眼鏡形式的穿戴式裝置，包含三星、Sony均先後推出新款智慧型手錶，而蘋果也預期將在2014年間公布新款智慧型手錶「iWatch」，HTC方面也在稍早訪談時透露將推出智慧型手錶產品。
