先前宣布展開的YouTube Music Awards音樂大獎，稍早於美國紐約舉辦頒獎典禮，揭曉此次獲獎名單，包含阿姆 (Eminem)、泰勒絲 (Taylor Swift)、YouTube爆紅小提琴少女Lindsey Stirling等均入圍獲獎，同時南韓少女時代也打敗PSY奪得年度人氣音樂錄影帶獎。

在此次於美國紐約舉辦的YouTube Music Awards音樂大獎頒獎典禮，正式揭曉包含阿姆 (Eminem)、泰勒絲 (Taylor Swift)、YouTube爆紅小提琴少女Lindsey Stirling等均入圍獲獎，同時南韓少女時代 (Girls' Generation)也打敗騎馬大叔PSY奪得年度人氣音樂錄影帶獎項，成為此次唯一獲獎的亞洲藝人。

而此次頒獎典禮全程透過YouTube於全球直播，同時在此之前也分別在首爾、倫敦、莫斯科和里約四地舉辦暖身演唱會，串聯多組當地人氣歌手與全球網友一同喝采。

YouTube Music Awards音樂大獎得獎名單如下：

‧年度人氣音樂錄影帶獎 (Video of the Year)：少女時代 (Girls' Generation)《I Got A Boy》

‧年度人氣歌手獎 (Artist of the Year)：阿姆 (Eminem)

‧年度人氣改編作品獎 (Response of the Year)：Lindsey Stirling and Pentatonix《Radioactive》

‧YouTube魔音洗腦獎 (YouTube Phenomenon)：泰勒絲 (Taylor Swift)《I Knew You Were Trouble》

‧年度爆紅藝人獎 (YouTube Breakthrough)：Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

‧年度創新獎 (Innovation of the Year)：DeStorm《See Me Standing》

此次YouTube Music Awards首度加入由熱愛影音網友擔任評審，並且決定所有的入圍及得獎名單。入圍名單評選標準，主要基於自2012年9月起網友與YouTube影片互動的總次數，包含影片於YouTube點閱、分享、喜歡、評論以及訂閱人數，並且在2013年10月22日至11月4日期間由全球網友將入圍影片分享至Google+、Facebook或Twitter進行最終決選。
