除在台大勢舉辦PlayStation 4新機發表上市活動，在日本地區舉辦活動中，索尼電腦娛樂也如先前預告，針對PlayStation Vita平台釋出PocketStation App，主要針對PlayStation Plus會員提供免費下載，主要讓玩家可於遊玩舊款PlayStation遊戲時使用。

針對PlayStation Vita平台使用舊款PlayStation遊戲遊玩模式，索尼電腦娛樂宣布將推出PocketStation for PlayStation Vita App，讓玩家可在PlayStation Vita遊玩舊款PlayStation遊戲時，也能透過App形式使用虛擬化的PocketStation配件。

如此一來，即可重新回味過去包含《貼身夥伴》、《Metal Gear Solid: Integral》或《Final Fantasy VIII》等遊戲作品，相容與PocketStation配件連動的遊玩模式，方便使用者隨時透過PlayStation Vita與多樂貓或路行鳥等角色互動。

不過，目前PocketStation for PlayStation Vita App僅限日本地區的PlayStation Plus付費會員於PSN上下載使用，暫時未透露其他地區開放下載時程。
