Facebook 14 日推出全新 Facebook Messenger for iOS，加入以電話號碼傳訊的功能。

Facebook 14 日推出完全為 iOS 7 重新設計的 Facebook Messenger，讓整個程式介面和圖示都向 iOS 7 的平面化風格一致。新版 Facebook Messenger 更增加了以電話號碼傳訊的功能，使用者可以藉此傳訊給不在好友列表中的聯絡人。這讓 Facebook Messenger 更有希望挾著龐大 Facebook 的使用人數，挑戰 WhatsApp、LINE 等即時通訊軟體。

新的 Facebook Messenger 為了能夠達成以電話號碼傳訊的功能，會先要求使用者同步聯絡人，如果你在意將聯絡人上傳到 Facebook 的伺服器，可選擇不要上傳，不過將無法以電話號碼傳訊。

在新的 Facebook Messenger 中，使用者將可以輕易透過圖示和上線狀態分辨誰已安裝 Facebook Messenger，只要是有藍色閃電圖示的使用者，都可以透過 Facebook Messenger 傳送訊息。而上線狀態更是輕易分辨出從電腦或手機上線，以後「我從手機上線的，所以沒回」這句話可能不適用了。
