在HTC One mini公布前，HTC曾在官方部落格透露「Little Things That Pack a BIG Punch」消息作為暗示，而在三星宣布將在德國IFA 2013舉辦Unpacked二部曲後，HTC也立即透過Twitter公布一組Vine短片與另一波YouTube短片，似乎暗示HTC One Max將至消息。

根據HTC稍早於官方Twitter所公布消息，其中張貼以「Big things ahead」為名的Vine短片，以及後續於YouTube所公布影片，似乎均暗示HTC One Max即將亮相。而影片中所出現角色手中拿持手機，目前從背後外觀看起來與現行新HTC One十分相似，但還無法明確看出其中差異。

目前HTC估計將跟進三星腳步於德國IFA 2013期間公布HTC One Max，因此預期將會與Galaxy Note III直接對決，而另一方面Sony Mobile也將會在IFA 2013期間公布新款旗艦機「Honami」Xperia i1。
