根據中國網站 ZOL 平板電腦論壇網友所獲得的照片，iPad mini 2 將具備金色外殼和 Touch ID。

中國網站 ZOL 平板電腦論壇網友「舅舅黨」於 26 日流出 iPad mini 2 的照片，根據發布者指出，iPad mini 2 也將具備和 iPhone 5s 相同的金色，這次能否再引起和金色 iPhone 5s 一樣的搶購風潮呢？

如果這幾張 iPad mini 2 的流出照片為真，那從 Home 鍵上的銀邊來看，iPad mini 2 可能也具備和 iPhone 5s 相同的 Touch ID 指紋辦識功能，而之前澳洲部落客 Sonny Dickson 也在 Twitter 上透露了相同的資訊：

同時 Sonny Dickson 也在之前流出了 iPad mini 2 另一種顏色的外殼：太空灰。這讓 iPad mini 2 和 iPhone 5s 將會具備相同的顏色看起來更為合理。

根據 Sonny Dickson 的消息，iPad 5 和 iPad mini 2 都將使用和 iPhone 5s 相同的 64 位元的 A7 與 M7 處高器，而 iPad mini 2 只有 1GB RAM，iPad 5 將有 2GB。Apple 新 iPad 有可能在 10 月 15 日的活動中和新的 Mac 一起推出，不過也有分析師指出將在第 4 季才會上市。
