YouTube 推自家音樂獎項，頒獎典禮將於 11 月播出。

YouTube 將於 11 月推出自家第一場音樂頒獎典禮 YouTube Music Awards，在頒獎典禮上，除了頒發獎項外，還包含來自全球的藝人表演，在音樂產業中的巨星 Lady Gaga、Eminem 和 Arcade Fire 都將登場，另外還包括在 YouTube 發跡的藝人如 CDZA 和 Lindsey Stirling 也將在典禮在紐約市舉辦的同時，於倫敦、首爾、莫斯科和里約熱內盧等地，而主持人則為 Jason Schwartzman，創意指導為 Spike Jonze。

YouTube Music Award 的提名人將基於影片在去年在 YouTube 網路上的觀看次數和分享次數而定，而贏家則將由所有觀看次數和社交分享次數而定。YouTube 將於 10 月 17 日公布被提名者，而頒獎典禮則將在 11 月 3 日舉行。

雖然 YouTube Music Award 不太可能挑戰也以人氣為依歸的 MTV VMA 音樂獎的地位，不過 YouTube 希望能讓它成為線上影片的重要獎項。「我們準備創造一個以YouTube 使用者的創造精神合襯的晚會，」創意指導 Spike Jonze 表示：「在頒發獎項的同時，我們也會拍攝現場音樂影片，整場晚會將感覺像是一則 YouTube 影片。」
