Intel 已出價 2 千萬美金收購資安公司 Sensory Network，以加強安全相關功能。

根據報導，Intel 已用 2 千萬美金（約新台幣 5 億 8,960 萬元）收購資安公司 Sensory Network。Sensory Network 總公司位於 Palo Alto，成立於 2002 年，是一家提供高效能技術，以尋找垃圾郵件、惡意程式和其他非法侵入等方式探測網路的硬體公司。不過在經過長時間發展，Seonsory Network 已由硬體方案轉為軟體模式，現在這個技術可在 Intel 處理器上以 160 Gbps 的速度運作。

根據 Sensory Network 的共同創辦人 Matt Barrie 表示，對於在高效網路領域中的新創公司，最大的挑戰就是引起像 Cisco 等公司的注意，這些公司可以藉由整合資安技術獲得極高價值。從 Intel 過去的歷史看來，可以幫助增進與這些網路巨擘的關係。

Sensory Network 的客戶包含 Intel 已用 77 億美元（約新台幣 2,269 億 9,600 萬元）收購的 McAfee。考慮到 Intel 目前著力開發資安技術。這讓 Intel 收購 Sensory Network 變得十分合理。而 Intel 之前也以 3 億 8,900 萬（約新台幣 114 億 6,770 萬元）收購了防火牆公司 Stonesoft。

Intel 已在資安技術上投資大筆金錢。不過 Intel 在軟體上的努力常被忽略。軟體使得 Intel 不只是一家晶片製造商。軟體的重要性漸漸了趕上硬體過去的重要性。
