三位熟識微軟執行長候選人伊洛普（Stephen Elop）的匿名人士表示，現任微軟執行副總裁的伊洛普，考慮調整微軟經營策略，轉而專注於開發供行動裝置使用的Office文書處理軟體，未來包括蘋果及Google所推出的智慧手機及平板電腦，或許都能使用Office的App。

彭博資訊引述匿名人士說法報導，伊洛普可能將放棄微軟維持數十年的策略，不再以文書處理軟體提振Windows作業系統需求。微軟旗下產品大部分只能在Windows系統環境下運作。

匿名人士表示，伊洛普是在擔任諾基亞（Nokia）執行長期間，獲得擬定微軟宏觀策略綱要的靈感。伊洛普2010年宣布放棄諾基亞原有的Symbian手機作業系統，改採Windows手機平台作為旗下手機作業系統，顯示其並不拘泥於自家開發軟體。
