先前有不少關於低價款iPhone的消息，目前則傳出蘋果引以為傲的Siri語音助理功能，可能將不會搭載於此款iPhone。另外，隨著低價iPhone的推出，蘋果也可能計畫終止銷售iPhone 4S。

根據市調機構Piper Jaffray分析師Gene Munster表示，以市場預估蘋果低價iPhone約美金300元左右，除了將採用塑膠機殼設計外，在軟體介面也可能不會搭載蘋果引以為傲的Siri語音助理功能。

另外，Gene Munster同時估計蘋果推出低價iPhone後，將有可能終止銷售iPhone 4S，以此取代既有低價策略。而針對新款iPhone部分，Gene Munster也表示整體改變並不大，除了可能搭載指紋識別功能強化手機個人隱私外，其餘部分可能與iPhone 5不會有太大差異。

目前尚未確認新款iPhone、低價iPhone具體名稱，但就先前市場傳聞分別認為名稱將是「iPhone 5S」、「iPhone 5C」。
