先前Google已經證實著手研發無人駕駛車，同時也在去年間於美國內華達州取得合法上路牌照。而在近期消息中，Google也傳出將與德國大陸集團 (即以馬牌輪胎聞名的Continental AG)、IBM攜手打造無人駕駛車使用系統。

根據路透新聞網站引述德國法蘭克福匯報 (Daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung)報導消息，指出Google將與德國大陸集團、IBM攜手打造無人駕駛車使用系統。不過，目前包含Google、大陸集團與IBM均未對此說法給予回應。

Google在近幾年已經多次著手實際測試無人駕駛車，同時今年在Google I/O 2013期間，共同創辦者暨執行長Larry Page在現身演說時也曾以無人駕駛車描繪個人期盼未來發展。而大陸集團在先前也與思科 (Cisco)合作自動駕駛系統使用平台，並且可將相關數據於車輛間傳輸使用。

目前關於Google無人駕駛車具體開發進度尚未有明確消息，不過Google已經在2012年間於美國內華達州取得無人駕駛車輛合法牌照，在配合相關技術人員乘坐協助處理緊急狀況下，將能更深入地在實際道路上測試無人駕駛車。
