搜尋近地天體 美探測衛星重出江湖

（路透佛羅里達州卡納維爾角21日電）美國國家航空暨太空總署（NASA）今天表示，封存已久的紅外線太空望遠鏡將重出江湖，搜尋可能會撞擊地球的危險小行星。

廣域紅外線探測衛星（WISE）也將搜尋適合展開小行星探測任務的目標，未來將讓機器人太空船與小行星會合，並將全部或部分小行星送上月球軌道。 NASA預計2021年左右發射獵戶星座（Orion）太空船，太空人屆時將在試飛過程中探訪這些重新安置的小行星。 獵戶星座太空船和新太空發射系統（Space LaunchSystem）預計2017年進行無人駕駛處女試飛。 廣域紅外線探測衛星2009年12月發射升空，展開為期13個月以紅外線偵測器搜尋小行星、恆星、遙遠星系和其他天體的任務。 科學家總計利用廣域紅外線探測衛星發現5億6000萬個星體，廣域紅外線探測衛星於2011年2月完成主要任務後，衛星上大部分望遠鏡裝備即關閉。 NASA發言人布朗（Dwayne Brown）說，NASA計劃下個月重新啟用休眠中的廣域紅外線探測衛星，每年投入約500萬美元，繼續運作3年。中央社(翻譯)
